Optional cancellation

Our IATI Standard travel policy provides medium level coverage of €40,000 of medical expenses, which is suitable for most holiday packages, especially short and medium journeys, in addition to our classic complementary coverage such as repatriation, theft and damage of luggage, advance money, etc.

Cancellation cover of up to €1,500 can also be added for the eventuality of not being able to depart for one of the reasons covered. Cancellation cover must be taken out at the same time or within the following 7 days of booking the trip to which this insurance policy applies.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE ABROAD | €40.000

We cover medical and hospital expenses as a result of you becoming ill or having an accident during your trip.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FOR PERMANENT RESIDENTS IN SPAIN TRAVELLING WITHIN SPAIN | €2.500

We cover medical and hospital expenses as a result of you becoming ill or having an accident during your trip.

DENTAL EXPENSES | €100

We cover the costs of emergency treatment as a result of acute dental problems such as infections, pain, trauma or following an accident.

PERSONAL INJURY IN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS | INCLUDED

We cover hospital and medical expenses if you have an accident in a motor vehicle.

TRAVEL/ACCOMMODATION OF A RELATIVE | 100%

If you have to stay in hospital for more than 5 days, we will cover the travel costs and pay up to €75/day for 10 days for a relative to stay with you.

CONVALESCENCE IN A HOTEL | €750

If doctors say you are unable to return home immediately, will we cover the costs of convalescing at a hotel with up to €75/day for 10 days.

SENDING MEDICATION ABROAD | INCLUDED

If you need specific medication and you cannot find it abroad, we will send it to you as soon as possible and you can repay us when you get back.

REPATRIATION

REPATRIATION OR TRANSPORT OF INJURED PERSONS OR REMAINS | 100%

If you have a serious illness or accident, we will cover the cost of emergency transport to the nearest medical centre or the place that provides the most appropriate treatment, and even your transport home if deemed necessary or in the event of your death.

REPATRIATION OR TRANSPORT OF OTHER INSURED PERSONS | 100%

If you need to be repatriated as a result of illness or death, we will also repatriate your travel companion.

EARLY RETURN HOME DUE TO HOSPITALISATION OR DEATH OF A RELATIVE | 100%

If your spouse or a first- or second-degree relative dies or is admitted to hospital, we will repatriate you and your travel companion.

EARLY RETURN DUE TO A SERIOUS INCIDENT AT THE HOME/BUSINESS PREMISES OF THE INSURED | €500

If a serious incident occurs at your home or business premises that requires your presence, we will repatriate you and your travel companion.

BAGGAGE AND DOCUMENTS

THEFT AND DAMAGE OF LUGGAGE | €1.000

We will cover the cost of baggage stolen using violent or intimidating means, on presentation of the written police report, as well as baggage lost or damaged on public transport, on presentation of the claim made to the carrier. Valuables are covered at up to 50% of the policy limit, with some exclusions that are not covered.

We will not cover theft of unattended belongings, such as theft that takes place in a restaurant or airport without you realising.

LOCATING AND SENDING LOST LUGGAGE | INCLUDED

If the carrier of a scheduled flight loses your luggage, we will help you find it and get it to you.

DELIVERY OF BELONGINGS THAT ARE FORGOTTEN OR STOLEN DURING THE TRIP | €60

If you leave something behind or an item stolen from you during the trip is recovered, we will send it to your home.

DELAYS

DELAYED DEPARTURE | €180

If your departure is delayed for more than 6 hours, we will pay you €50 for every full 6 hour period to cover part of your expenses, on presentation of receipts.

Delays caused by strikes or civil unrest are not covered.

DELAYED DELIVERY OF CHECKED BAGGAGE | €120

If the carrier takes over 12 hours to deliver your luggage, we will reimburse the costs of any basic items you have to buy, on presentation of the receipts.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

CASH ADVANCE | €1.000

If for some reason you can’t access your money we will advance it on presentation of a guarantee and you’ll have 30 days to pay us back.

SENDING URGENT MESSAGES | INCLUDED

If you need to send a message to your family as a result of a claim that we are covering you for but you are unable to, we will send it for you.

LEGAL COVER

DEFENCE FOR CRIMINAL LIABILITY ABROAD | €3.000

We will defend your criminal liability in proceedings brought in foreign courts for events that occur in your private life as a result of your trip.

DAMAGE CLAIMS ABROAD | €2.000

We will claim compensation for any damages you may sustain as a pedestrian or passenger on any means of transport.

CLAIMS IN PURCHASE CONTRACTS ABROAD | €2.000

We will claim compensation for breach of any purchase contracts you have for decorative and personal items or household appliances.

CLAIMS IN SERVICE CONTRACTS ABROAD | €2.000

We will claim compensation for breach of contract for medical and hospital, travel, tourism and hospitality, and cleaning, laundry and dry cleaning services.

PERSONAL CIVIL LIABILITY | €60.000

We will pay any claims brought against you if you are held liable for any injuries or damage you involuntarily cause to third parties.

ACCIDENTS

DISABILITY GUARANTEE | €6.000

We will indemnify you in the event of permanent, total or partial disability as a result of an accident during your trip.

DEATH | €2.000

We will also pay indemnification in the event of death as a result of an accident during your trip.

OPTIONAL

CANCELLATION COSTS | €1.500

We will reimburse any expenses that you can not recover directly from the travel supplier (e.g. flights, hotels) as a result of cancelling your trip, provided that you cancel before the trip starts and for one of the reasons set out in the policy. Read the cancellation reasons in the pdf.

EXTENSION FOR CRUISES

Optionally, we will also cover you aboard a cruise ship.
